The Chiswick School J14 Girls Quad

May 9, 2024

The Chiswick School J14 girls quad sculls crew had a very successful day racing over 1000m at Chiswick Regatta . In their heat they were drawn against Tiffin School and after a good start won convincingly by three lengths.

In the Final where they were up against Emmanuel School, they again got off to a good start and were ahead by the half way point. However, Emmanuel put in a strong push in the second half of the race to just overhaul Chiswick School on the finish line and win by a third of a length.

Chiswick School were racing in the Janousek four purchased for them jointly by Chiswick Rowing Trust and the Quintin Hogg Trust. The crew was hugely encouraged by their competitive performance at their first ever regatta and will be racing again at Barnes and Mortlake Regatta on the 15th June.

The President of Quintin Boat Club, John Peters, who rowed in a Chiswick Grammar School boys eight at the Regatta in 1964 commented ‘ It was wonderful to see Chiswick School competing again at Chiswick Regatta after a gap of 60 years’.
